Disappointing to see fans calling for Jacobsen to be fired already. Very young group with a young captain. Was always going to be a challenge. Majok Dengs twitter activity last night shows there is a lot of maturing to do. (Since been deleted)

Creek “It’s an ass whooping”

The Illawarra Hawks demolished the Adelaide 36ers on Friday night. Belting them 122-88.
The Hawks set a record for the most points scored regulation in the 40 minute era with 122 points. They also dropped the most assists in a game in the 40 minute era with 36 assists.
The 36ers had a 1 point lead going into the 2nd half but the Hawks took over in the 3rd term outscoring Adelaide 34-10, blowing the game wide open.
After the game Joey Wright was not happy with the defensive lapses by his team and did not hold back from telling everyone.
“I haven’t seen our team play with the passion that we need to on defense. I’ve challenged them repeatedly, day to day in training. Ultimately it comes down to the individuals wanting to play like t-hat.”
Mitch Creek was the lone stand out for Adelaide. Despite being limited to just 13 minutes due to foul trouble, the NBL veteran dropped 24 points in the blow out loss.
Creek told reporters that he did not expect this to happen again.
“It’s not a learning curve, it’s an ass whooping. Joey said it after the game, if we play with that kind of energy we better get use to those sort of losses and that’s something I don’t want to feel again, so I know we won’t.”.
Daniel Johnson was missing in action most of the game. He ended the game with just 4 points on 1/5 shooting and turning the ball over 4 times.
Import Eric Jacobson did manage to grab 5 rebounds, however had just 1 shot attempt all game and fouled out. Jacobson also seemed to fuel Hawks import Michael Holyfield in the 2nd half. Holyfield ended up coming off the bench to score 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.
The 36ers are hoping they can bounce back against Melbourne on Sunday.
Nat Where You At
Adelaide will struggle this year to put wins on the board will get some wins when everyone lights up but will still be down the bottom of the ladder. Can any one tell me why Terence furgeson didn't play much, I was totally let down I was expecting lots more from him
Who's calling for heads? They're a young group, anyone who didn't think we would have problems like this at the start of the season were kidding themselves. We turned the ball over way too many times, and there were some really cheap fouls called that put key players on the bench. Yeah we gave up way too many points, but we also out scored the other four teams who had already played. One game is not enough to start sacking people
They are too young and their 7th, 8th, 9th and 10th men would probably be 10th or 11th men elsewhere.
Didn't like the rotations and the lack of adjusting to the flow of the game. Let's see how Sunday's game against United goes.
Creeks playing the best game of he's career, gets 4th foul and never get put back into the game. He was playing lights out gotta take the risk when the game was on the line earlier
