Import report #1

r1-crns

Active Imports:
Chris Warren – 36ers
Diamon Simpson – 36ers
Andrew Warren – Taipans
Jamar Wilson – Taipans
Will Hudson – Blaze
Ayinde Ubaka – Tigers
Ronald Dorsey – Tigers
Cedric Jackson – Breakers
Gary Wilkinson- Breakers
Kevin Lisch – Wildcats
Kevin Ratzsch – Kings
Jerai Grant – Kings
Eddie Gill –  Crocs
Elvin Mims – Crocs
Joevan Catron – Hawks

Leader of the pack:
First round would have to go to Breakers point guard Cedric Jackson. Leading his team to two solid convincing wins. One against title contenders the Gold Coast. Jackson had a solid first game scoring 11 points, 5 assists & 7 rebounds. But he saved his best for the Wollongong Hawks when he almost single handed dismantled them, scoring 28 points shooting at 73% to go along with 6 rebounds, 6 steals & 3 assists.
Many believe he should of recieved play of the week honors (missed out to Patty Mills). One thing is for sure, if he plays close to the way he did against the Hawks this weekend against the Kings, and win. He should be an early MVP favorite.

A step behind:
The most disappointing debut would have to go to now former Gold Coast import, Mike English. Mike came into the league with high expectations but barely landed in Australia before getting the boot. In his debut he went 0/4 from the field to go with 4 turnovers. He was sent back to the states to deal with some family issues.
Other mentions: Ron Dorsey, Kevin Ratzsch

Flirting with the exit:
Would have to be Sydney Kings import Kevin Ratzsch. He had a lackluster season opener, many think because he is fairly cheap, that may keep him there for a few more weeks. But as the Kings notice they are in need of a game finisher, can they afford to have their second import spot filled by Ratzsch? If the Kings lose this weekend & Kevin has another quiet game.. surely he will be put on notice.
