Not surpringly.. The Melbourne Tigers have re-signed swing man Bennie Lewis for the 2012-13 season.
In a press release earlier today Bennie had this to say about him re-signing with the club:
I am really excited to be back in a Tigers uniform. It is fantastic to have Chris, D-Mac & Rohan as our coaches, they are really focused on getting us back to the winning ways Tigers fans are used to! The last three seasons have been tough, however the new management’s enthusiasm and passion for the club is terrific and will no doubt steer the entire organisation in the right direction – Bennie Lewis
After a semi break out in the second half of the 2010-11 season, expectations were high for Lewis for the 2011-12 season, but the addition of Patty Mills & Rush had pushed Lewis out of the rotation earlier in the season. But he expects (along with many basketball fans) that 2012-13 season will be his year.
Lewis joins Matthew Burston, Adam Ballinger, Ronald Dorsey, Liam Rush, Nate Tomlinson, Tommy Greer and Lucas Walker. The Tigers are yet to sign an import with Chris Anstey saying they are in no real rush just yet.
