The Melbourne Tigers have reportedly signed former import & NZ Breaker Kevin Braswell for the 2012-13 season.
Kevin stands at 6ft 2, can play the point and shooting positions. He last played in the NBL in 2011 for the NZ Breakers, winning a NBL championship.
During the 2011 season he averaged 10ppg, 4.2apg and 1.2spg off the bench, but was no re-signed for the 2011-12 season and tried to find a contract with a number of NBL teams, including the Melbourne Tigers & the Wollongong Hawks.
Braswell stayed in New Zealand after being unsuccessful securing an NBL contract for 2011-12 and played in the NZ NBL with the Southland Sharks where he averaged 20ppg, 3.9rpg and 5.1apg. He made the All-New Zealand NBL 2nd Team in 2012.
Before playing in the NBL Braswell had stints in France, Israel and Bosnia.
In 2012 Kevin became a naturalised Kiwi which means he will play as a local in the NBL.
Baswell was meant to be signed as a local, but his New Zealand citizenship did not come through in time for the club. So they have decided to use their final import spot on Kevin.
Kevin joins other signings: Seth Scott, Lucas Walker, Nate Tomlinson, Tommy Greer, Liam Rush & Adam Ballinger.
