A very strong rumour coming out of Adelaide at the moment, is that Boomers point guard Adam Gibson has agreed to sign with the 36ers for the 2012-13 NBL season, after the demise of the Gold Coast Blaze earlier this week.
The signing is yet to be made official, but sources told ATF to expect an announcement in the coming days.
Gibson is currently overseas with the Boomers, getting ready for the 2012 Olympics.
‘Gibbo’ played for the Blaze last season (dur) and averaged 11.4ppg, 1.1spg, 4.7apg and 4.2rpg. All stats down from the 2010-11 season when he made the All-NBL Second team.
Adam has not had the best luck in the NBL. Since entering the league in 2005, every team he has played on has folded.
His first team was the Brisbane Bullets, he played with the club until 2008 when they handed their license back to the league. He then played one season with the South Dragons in 2009, that year the Dragons won the NBL championship & folded at seasons end. In 2010 he moved to the Gold Coast to play with the Blaze, until they bowed out of the league this week.
Other Blaze players still on the market are: Anthony Petrie, Chris Goulding & Daniel Dillon.
Petrie has been chased by the Hawks, 36ers & Tigers. Goulding’s status is still unknown & Daniel Dillon is in advanced talks with another un-named NBL club.
