The Adelaide 36ers have announced their newest signing for 2012-13. Former Gold Coast Blaze big man, Anthony Petrie.
The signing comes a week after the Blaze left the NBL surrounded by controversy and a one sided sledge fest aimed towards the NBL & Basketball Australia.
Even though the Blaze had released Anthony Petrie before the team bowed out of the league, Petrie was waiting for a white knight to save the Blaze. When this didn’t happen Petrie’s agent hit the phones to field calls from almost every team in the league that wasn’t named the Perth Wildcats (due to points).
Petrie joins former Blaze team mate Jason Cadee who had been hitting social media to try to convince his former team mate Chris Goulding to also sign with the 36ers.
Anthony averaged 10ppg, 5.7rpg & shot at 46% from the field last year.
The current 36ers roster stands at: Petrie, Jason Cadee, Mitch Creek, Nathan Crosswell, Daniel Johnson, Stephen Weigh & Luke Schenscher.
