Julian Khazzouh released by Asseco Prokom Gdynia

Former Sydney King and All NBL First Team member Julian Khazzouh, has been released by Polish team Asseco Prokom Gdynia.

Head coach Kestutis Kemzura said this in regards to releasing Julian from his contract:

We decided with management that we need different type of player in the front court. That’s why we decided to part ways with Khazzouh. Player understood our decision and it was evident that European style of basketball doesn’t suit him very well. – Kestutis Kemzura

Julian played just 2 games for Gdynia, he averaged 8.5ppg and 7rpg. Khazzouh started both games he played, the team went 1-1 during his short stint.

It is currently unknown if he will attempt to gain another contract overseas, go to the NBDL or come back to Australia. Unless some roster moves are made it is impossible for another NBL team to sign him due to his high player points rating. But even if some players are released early, it is still unknown if he would like to return to the NBL this year or not.
