Andersen Returns To Illawarra

The Illawarra Hawks have announced the re-signing of 39 year old big man David Andersen.

Depsite his age, Andersen proved to be a productive player for the Hawks last season, starting 16 games and playing in 28 games in total, the former NBA centre averaged 8.4 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game in a little over 17 minutes per game.

This will be Andersen’s 5 and likely last season in the NBL.

Starting his NBL career in 1998-99 with the then Wollongong Hawks, Andersen went on to have a stellar career that has so far included a total of 12 championships. 3 Euro League, 3 Italian League, 3 Russian League, 1 Spanish League, 1 French League and 1 NBL with Melblourne United in 2018.

Anderson also teams up with former Houston Rockets team mate, Aaron Brooks. Brooks signed with the Hawks in June.

The signing of Andersen means the Illawarra Hawks roster is complete and includes, Josh Boone, AJ Ogilvy, Angus Glover, Daniel Grida, Todd Blanchfield, Tim Coenraad, Aaron Brooks, Emmett Naar, Sunday Dench, Sam Froling and LaMelo Ball
