Breakers Add Import Scotty Hopson

The New Zealand Breakers have signed 6 foot 7 swingman, Scotty Hopson.

Hopson was born in Kentucky and went to college at Tennessee where as a junior he everaged 17 ppg and 3 rpg. After declaring for the 2011 NBA draft Hopson went on to play all around the world, playing in Croatia, China, Turkey, Spain, Israel. Greece and the G-League.

In 2014 Hopson signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers but played just 2 games for the Cavs before being involved in a series of trades that saw his right go to Charlotte, New Orleans, Houston and Sacramento.

In 2018 the Mavs signed Hopson to a 10-day contract. He played just 1 game with the Mavs.

The 29 year old guard will join a Breakers team that so far includes: RJ Hampton, Corey Webster, Finn Delany, Tom Abercrombie, Rob Loe, Jordan Ngatai and Jarrad Weeks.
